Hi all. I decided to swap the sidecar from my Ural to my R 1100 RT. I'm going to fabricate the subframe/rig for the bike and I would appreciate any advice on how I should do it. Many detailed pictures would also be highly valued. I checked the forum and not found what I need so that is why I start a new topic. Thank you.

Good luck with your new venture.
If you have reasonable fabricating skills and some basic equipement then it is a matter of spending the time to think through the issues at hand.
You will need to make a special sub frame to fit your bike so as to have something to bolt your sidecar to it.
There are other versions of the R1100 I:E the GS models on this site which are similar that have subframes you may be able to get ideas from.
    Keep looking and asking questions.

We do make a kit for this. The only tricky part is the front upper mount so as not to have to cut up the fairing much. Ours come out just over the head where all we have to do is trim some of the plastic where it curves under such that you only see the trimmed plastic if you are on the ground looking up. The upper rear we clamp on using a special machined clamp, you could also weld the upper rear on. Lowers are no problem, drop the center stand out of the bike, open the hole in the front of the engine case to 12mm. It already is so on both outer ends, just tappers in the middle a bit. For your bike we also make an off set plate for the ball joint mount for the Telelever fornt end which makes for easier steering with the sidecar. Not all that hard to work out and fabricate one your self however you may need longer brake hoses. And we offer an automotive rear wheel and tire for the bike. For the Ural we convert it over to fully adjustable boss and clamp lower mounts.

    Thaks for your reply.
I understand that it might be your " trade secrets " but i dare ask, if possible, could you send some pics with the mounts?
