Anyone up for a weekday Richloam ride? Looked at the weather and it should be 60s and clear mid-next-week; perfect.

I'm up for just abut any time midweek, let me know what works.

    Bueller? ...... Bueller?

Conditions are going to be great, tell your boss to shove it and take a day off for riding.

Isn't it supposed to be in the low 30s by mid week? Those woods get pretty cold. I've been out there a (live in Brandon area) couple of times, but I'm always scared to go through too much water on my, new to me, DR650 due to having the OEM wheel bearings, which are only sealed on one side(per online info). I'm currently trying to decide on a good pair of boots too. Last time I went there, it wasn't nice crossing even small puddles with my perforated street. Lots. Lol!

Nope, it'll be 60's/70's and clear for the next ~5 days or so after this rain passes through. Great riding weather, probably the last cool days for.... months.

if you're not riding Richloam during this drought you're missing out. Went up there yesterday for a couple hours, not a drop of water in sight. Get out there and ride before the rains come.

Anyone been around Richloam lately? Has it dried out much? I was thinking about going up there sometime next week if anyone can make a weekday ride for a couple hours. 5 day window between archery and gun season.

Heard the trails still had a lot trees down blocking them.

I was in Richloam last Saturday, it was not as wet as I thought but there are a lot of trees still down in the trails.

Like they stated above, we went there to check our usual spots only found a few muddy areas, but had to put the jeep’s Off-road bumpers to use breaking and pushing trees out of the way to get through some areas. Tried on the bike about a month ago and got tired of having to turn around due to downed trees on most trails.

bow season in richloam right now, gun season starts 11/18 thru 1/14, time for us to give the woods back to the hunter's. we don't won't to be in the woods with hunter's and high powered rifles.

I'm going to head up there this afternoon for a couple hours after lunch if anyone can make it, parking at the firetower.

Sunday AM 9-9:30a at the Firetower if anyone wants to ride. Ride til about 12:30p. Weather should be great.

Rode this afternoon, conditions were pretty good. Still some trees down, but most have easy paths around. Not as much water as I expected.

Brand new to the area, wish I had found this thread earlier. Haven't gone through it all yet, but is Richloam an ok place for a dr650? Fresh down from Tennessee and ive never really ridden sand much, so this is gonna be a change of pace for me.

Sure, you'll be good on a 650. There's a good mix of sand, mud, water, forest roads and regular dirt/limestone roads.

Sand is everywhere here, consider more aggressive tires if you want to be off road a lot.

EDIT: Change of plans, looks like it's going to rain Sunday by mid-late morning. Gonna try for an afternoon Saturday ride, maybe around 1:30-2p.

Looks like most of the rain will happen in the afternoon tomorrow. Will be at the firetower at 9am with a few FFs. All are welcome. :ricky
