My claim to fame today was a beer run to Brass Canon, picking up 20lbs of bird seed at tractor supply, and freshening up the gas that's been sitting in my tank. The humidity was pretty rotten today.

    Is that these? http://www.aerostich.com/clothing/g...h-short-gauntlet-triple-digit-raincovers.html

I bought the new Rukka 3-finger gloves a couple of weeks ago but left them home today. I got them for cold weather, but they're Gore-tex, too. I thought my waterproof IXS gloves would actually be waterproof…

Yep, Triple Digit. I might have had the Legend of Zelda on my brain for some reson. I think most of the time, "waterproof " means getting it wet won't damage it. You'll get soaked, but the article in question will dry out and be ok.

Thank you Charles and John. This one went in way too easy but I’ll take it.

I bought it from my brother. He laughed when I told him it's been sold 3 times since but is still less than 2 miles from my house!

Helps to have a plane with enough engine to hang on prop wash but still an amazing bit of piloting. Cannot imagine what it takes to find that new equilibrium for the aircraft in the middle of that tumbling knowing that the ground is coming fast.

Edit: Post now forever out of context because previous poster removed video that was found to have been a fake. I fell for it too.

I'm 99% sure that was deemed a hoax a year or so ago.

The whole thing looks like an RC model up to the point where the craft turns to the left, conveniently hiding the right wing.

It looks awfully fake. Especially the landing, but also the plane rolling left after losing the right wing.

I've seen that plane video and others like it other times on the web, all debunked. The laws of physics are pretty harsh. One wing does not lead to a walk away landing even if Chuck Yeager was holding the stick.
I do admire the skillful video editing.

It was a post that an inmate put up regarding the structural failure of an aircraft (stunt plane), and the pilot being able to get it back on the ground safely. It looks as tho' he has pulled it down.

Thanks, I wondered what happened. I assume it was this one:

Here's a story about a real incident. They were just talking about it in the aviation thread:
