looks like you have 20 pages of reading to do, otherwise, there's no way you'd write your comment

Thank you for the pics, again. I use them as the background on my work laptop, so when I have to plug in to present at meetings I get to see them blown up on a big screen. Co-workers are always curious as to what pic I will have every week, and Chinese counterparts are always blown away. Spurs some interesting questions and conversation about travel by moto, and never fail to give me 10 minutes before I actually have to present. :photog

Thanks Paul for your cost update. Always interesting to hear how others break down the costs. I budget $150/day single bike two up. I'm a loner so prefer to be with my wife without help from others. Generally I'm under budget but if we have a long day and are fed up I have room in the budget for a nice hotel. I don't include purchase price of the bike in my budget or cost of maintaining the house while I'm gone.

Paul, I was wondering if you went with the Motoz Trationators. If so, how do you like them?

Sitting here with a little free time, i was looking thru photos from the last year! I thought for those who like to use the acronym TLDR and are jumping in right now I'd do a year in review that may make a few go back to the beginning to see other things they missed.

It also gives me a chance to review my fav shots of 2017

I could only wish to have that kind of daily budget, the RR would look a little different i think!

    Another oddball question:
With Egle on her own two wheels, has it impacted her ability to write on the road? I read at a couple of places that she was able to get a lot done as a pillion while you were riding. I would be surprised to hear she’d rather be riding two up again with her own sense of adventure, but curious about her work.

Quite honestly she is writing more, once we crossed out of the US we ride much slower with shorter days and more multi days stops. We don't venture out too much at night so that time is free.

To give you an idea how slow we move, over the current 15 day period we clocked a grand total of 152km

I did the math for us 'mericans and that's 6.4 miles a day. So either of you have got two flat tires and yer pushing those bikes, or you've run out of gas, or it's just so bloody nice there that going any faster would be criminal! Or maybe the food is just to die for...

Your doing what I envision for myself - slow, deliberate travel. Enjoy the day, enjoy the moment, take it all in like a sponge. Make it last - what's the hurry? On the perfect bikes too!

I very much enjoyed Egle's writing. Real talent there for a wordsmith, and as a second or third or ?? language, she writes exceptionally well. No doubt there will be a book - right? It'll definitely sell I'd like to think.
