Aha grasshopper, the pillion pegs. I was wondering what stopped them flapping about like a gutted trout.

Second purpose? Do they prevent your legs getting squashed when you capsize?

I haven't had the spare time to follow the thread for a while so @UncleGra What's the new mount? Looks good. Reckon we need to go for a ride some time soon. I don't think i have been for a decent ride on the DRz since Dec when we went to Glen Dart. :( Fired it this arvo and took it for a spin in preparation for a roadworthy tomorrow and it reminded me of what I have been missing out on.

Gday Troy..Husky 701. Keef and I have been exploring closer to home ..lots of good touring around Benalla Mansfield Winton, Whitfield .up north of Albury to Wagga and west out towards Conargo etc..taking advcantage of the big dry on some beaut dirt roads. Saddle up and join in..Keeef has a job to go to but we'll be doing more...all easy stuff tho..would be suitable with Kel on the back too.

Not familiar with the 701, might have to do some research and check them out. Would be nice to get out and do some exploring again. Was hoping for a big year this year with Vinduros but due to event changes, work and distant locations I have only manged one so far this year aside from Broadford so have recently parted company with a couple of my older steads in favor of a Dual Suspension Mountain bike and have taken it out riding around Beechworth and Yack instead. Don't get me wrong I still have some old dirt bikes to ride when it suits but after having taken a break for a while i am really starting to get the ADV bug again. As for Kel she might have to stay at home as the only bike i have suitable for a pillion these days is the old XJ and it is running like :topes at the moment.

The track has been cleaned up...this point is where you start the walk up to the WW2 plane that flew into Mt Tawonga ..parts of Eskdale Spur was slicker than deer guts on a door knob...

DSCN1515.JPG ..carried on but this was the stopper..built a ramp and tried to get over but no chance..too greasy ..even tried the Sir Walter Raleigh trick with my jacket...and it was getting late..so did a ubolt ..got home after dark to an unamused better half..

I am in Albury wadonga at the moment and have next 2 weekends off. I know there would be hundreds of places to visit, but any recommendations, I would prefer mainly tar but forest trails would not be out of the question. No further than say 300ks away....

Bit hard ATM, all the real good roads involve snow and chains. Try a loop out to Tallangatta/Granya via the Granya gap, out to Jingellic for lunch at the pub, home via Corryong. Or out to Mitta Mitta via Lockharts Gap, then to Anglers Rest lunch at the Blue Duck, then back the same way. (Normally back via Falls Creek or Hotham but snow and shit). Or Beechworth/Stanley lunch at Stanley pub, Mudgegonga/Rosewhite/Dederang home via Kiewa.

Can’t do an escort this weekend, might be able to next weekend. Keefy is a member of the idle rich and can talk Bavarian.
