At this point it's a bit late to try and leave. Traffic leaving the state is unreal. People are running out of gas just idling on the interstate.

I would have left but I have a mom here in her mid 60's and my Jeep has a v8 in it. If it wasn't for her I'd jump on the Buell and head to deals gap for the weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well. She rocked about 20-25 miles EAST of NHC prediction of landfall in the keys. Naples looks next, not Tampa as predicted late last night. Lots of wind and surge...

Thanks Mike. Things are getting a bit windy here. Are you working during the storm?

Here's the current conditions at my house.

I bet! My poor Grom did double duty over the last week. Have to love 100mpg.

No damage here other than the a/c capacitor dying during the power surges.

a while back i posted photo evidence to support the rumor of a curve in one of florida’s roads. at the risk of starting a stampede of motorcyclists and sports cars to the sunshine state, im proud to present this: a second curve! thats right, its not just a wacky theory—

Janes Scenic is open, I was there in a car a few weeks ago while visiting FL. I've seen the squares mentioned here before, is that the same as Picayune?

Same place. So Janes is open all the way through? About time! Now we have a lunch stop on Saturday! Everglades City here we come!
The water on Stewart is quite shallow now so the ride through there is easy.

    GO BIG!

Can't speak to if it was open all the way through but made it a good ways up. If open all the way through, can you take it all the way up to 75 or Collier Blvd? I grew up in that area and never knew about the road. I saw the movie "adaptation" and it piqued my interest to go check it out while visiting, pretty cool road and preserve, wished I was on a bike...

We went riding last week out there, Jane's is still closed. From the looks of it Jane's will be closed for a while.

Janes will be closed indefinitely due to lack of funding for road repair! I guess budget planning failed?

Could we not go in there with chain saws and clean it up ourselves?

The road in North Carolina at deals gap that runs from up by Gatlinburg to deals gap is closed permanently cause of funding. I rode it on the DRZ and didn't see anything that couldn't be taken care of with a chainsaw and a pickup.
