Okay, time to start planning the Autumn tech day.

I'm leaning toward September 15th. That work for anyone?

I'll still be on crutches and Big_LV will still be in an arm sling, but there should be plenty of other local gurus to help out.

Plenty of time to order parts.

Should I assume we get together and work on bikes? And the old-timers show n00bs how to fix stuff??

If that's what it is about, I am in! (and will bring beer!) :D

Yup, lots of KLRs (mostly) get wrenched on. A good opportunity to see what others have done to their bikes and to watch some common mods and upgrades get done.

It's cool, Marc. I can't speak for Laura, but I definitely deserve some ribbing for my dumb stunt.

At least I'll probably be thumping around in the boot rather than on the crutches.

Consider me IN. I shouldn't really need to do anything to the KLR for a while after some maintenance this weekend, but I'd still like to meet some other ADVers and would be more than willing to help with what I can. I relocated to Loveland from the Kansas City area in May and have yet to really find a group of KLR riders here in the front range.

Anyway, I'll stuff my panniers with tools/beers and get stoked for this. Marty, where are you located? You can totally PM me this if you'd rather.

We have a grill for the "almost food" and Laurie will help coordinate whatever needs to be done. We will supply some soda and water, some snacks and things, too. If needed, we'll send for pizza. Those who bring food are especially welcome. :clap

I'm about 16 miles south-west of Castle Rock. SgtMarty dot com for details and directions.

Who knows, by then I might be out of my sling... or at least feeling pretty good (not good enough to do any lifting).

My healing time is supposed to be 4 to 6 weeks (1 week down), so by the time the date gets here I'll be at 5 weeks of healing.

Too bad it is a week later, will be passing by CR on 9/9 on my way to Denver, Gunnison and then Durango. Will miss meeting you and other KLRistas in the Mile Hi area. Guess I better catch up on your exploits to learn more about the crutches (been there, done that, not going back if it can be helped.)

I hope your leg is feeling better by now. Breaking is the easy part,it's the healing that hurts. I'm in for the tech day, gotta check valves and replace the valce cover gasket. Only a week, damn time flys.

This is great. I just ordered a new chain and was wondering where I might use all the gizmos it takes to pull and press a chain. That is providing someone will have them?
    :ear

Didn't this use to be in Longmont? I've been trying to make it to one of these for awhile.
