the day was cold and damp, even by irish standards but i'd not be dissuaded from me task today. i wanted to go to a real museum but not an old museum if you get me drift and up the road i was sure to find one.

i was on me way to modena where there were all kindsa ferrari cars in a big big house. not to be confused with da udder ferrari house out in maranello...

to get in here you need to have prebooked in the last century, or so i was told, so i went back in time and did just that. with me golden ticket in hand i danced up to the front door but the fu*kin thing was locked.............................oooohoolyfuuuck says i to meself, what is a man to do............?

it seems i was toooo early, but being a mildly resourceful buck i goes over to the udder part of the building and blags me way in while smiling all the while.
.
so here was i, all alone in Enzo's place.....................hmmmmmmmmm

i'd like to suggest that you go get a couple of tissues as drool is definitely a possibility in the following few seconds.................

the beauty who let me in asked that i did not touch her - actually she meant i could not touch the cars as some were priceless, truth be told she was pretty much priceless herself.

i stood there marvelling that such beauty can be formed from the hands of mere mortals, looking round and being overwhelmed and with no one to even nod to in mutual appreciation a tear formed in my eye..............this was genius, this was art, this was sublime craftsmanship never before witnessed in mans history...

i wandered into a 'recreation' of the great mans office just to escape the overwhelmingness of these beautiful creations............

the car above, see car with '2' on her rump, is the 500 F2 single seater open nose (first time they did an open nose one) race car, built in 1951 it won the F1 world title for 1952-3, this was Ferrari's first ever F1 world title and below is the same car doing what it was built to do............

When I was a kid there was a red one used to park in the village....... beautiful.

gotta agree on the Dino men, she is a thing of beauty, yep she is...............

so with ticket in hand i head for the entry of the Ferrari Museo drippin' in anticipation

the very first car i come to, basically taking up most of the lobby area, wasn't even a fu*kin' Ferrari at all....................huh..............?

yeah, the first car i hit on is a bloody Alfa Romeo.....................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
.
now don't get me wrong i love Alfa's but for Jaysus's sake i didn't come to see them..............

but this is a really special Alfa, built in 1922 she was called the G1, this beasty was so successful (not) that they never built a G2....
.

about 50 odd were built in total, actually 52 but 50 were shipped of all places to Australia. this is the only surviving one 'in the world' apparently, she is a 6.5 litre 65 hp bruteful hoor of a beast. this one was actually used to round up cattle before hitting a tree and was then used as a water pump until 1964 when she was 'found' by enthusiasts and restored.............!!

back into Bologna and says i, why not ate some spagetti bolognese seeing as this is where the whole 'enchalada' started so to speak....so i found a right fine spot i did............parked up and strode in...........twere a fancy dan spot indeed so they looked me upndown 'riservatsioni ?' or such........me 'no boss'........and shrug of the shoulders.......pointed me in near the back where i wouldn't be fit ta frighten the customers........i takes me seat and chatting away to meself i was when waiterman comes over.........i goes the whole hog and started with the bolognese, then the filletto di manzo, then dolce, then can't even remember cos i'd had two good bottles o red vino and all soon was well in the world, at least my world....
