I'm seeking some local help in planning a 10th anniversary trail riding vacation in the White Mountains. We're thinking about maybe a cabin rental close to good trails and dualsporting. We would be happier supporting business operators you have stayed with and liked rather than a web search. Any ideas? Time frame is first two weeks of June.

Check out the Cabins on Harvey's Lake - in Peacham/Barnet VT but near the NH border - right along the Bailey-Hazen - which has about 5 miles of really run/tough D/S and you can connect in to the Puppy Dog Run which is close by.

In North Conway, I stayed in the Inn over Moat Mountain Brewery & Smokehouse - under $100 and great rooms - with a staircase for a commute after dinner/drinks. There's also the Spruce Moose in North Conway which serves awesome breakfasts but most times they require a minimum 2 day stay.

I cannot recommend Pittsburg NH enough.

As for White Mountains, Conway area may be your best bet.

Haven't stay here, but http://www.oxfordhouseinn.com/ is an area of some very nice riding. Its paved, but Evan's Notch is a gorgeous ride.

Plenty of awesome info from inmates in the whites. I'm on the western side of the whites so I'll give you as much info from this side. First thing i can say is New Hampshire dual sporting is is bit reserved up here. Not much on the lines of backcountry trails to ride all day, rather what we have is an awesome network of back country dirt roads to explore. Most are designated on maps as streets so inside info on cool country roads are a must. Warren NH has a little inn named Rustic gatherings locacted right on main st. They are motorcycle/ohrv friendly and acces to the local trails and ethanol free gas is very close. Now, the trail system. The trail bike friendly trail system in NH is minimal and will cost an out of stater about $75.00 fro a tag. Warren has only about fifteen miles of trails to use, but are big bike friendly, about twenty miles north in woodsville starts the ammonoosuc rail trail that heads into littleton. The Ammomoosuc is very straight and very few secondary spots to play, but does run through several towns and some beautiful scenery, the end is in Littleton, which is a great place to get some food and check out shops, both Kawasaki and Honda dealers are here. From warren you can also acces several very nice back roads and direct acces to central whites via rt 118 , which is very rideale on a small dual sport. There is easy access to the Hamster route from here as well. If you do choose to stay on the western side , just ask and I'll give you a list of great back roads to ride, but definitely wait for other inmates to chime in because there are amazing areas all over the whites to base your trip from.
