Thanks, we got our permits online. (required to compete.) It was a little confusing, but beats stopping along the way!

CO permits apparently require some kind of proof of ownership. The web site says an MSO will work, but I haven't done it yet on line so I don't know is jpeg or pdf of the MSO from this SOB will work with their system.

You read ut wrong Bene. Just asks the make, Your name and takes your money. Now the website is a little confusing. Just remember it is out of state permit.

Also you can stop at any place that sells hunting and fishing liscense. Like Wal Mart. Myself the online thing is easier.

Make sure you are getting an out of state OHV Permit and not a Registration. Registration requires all the usual vehicle information but all the CO OHV permits I've had through the years had nothing vehicle specific on them (unless something has changed for 2018 :dunno ).

OK, thanks. So I take it the annual PERMIT can be bought under a simple request anywhere, no MSO required, and no tying to a VIN number or bike description?

If it is a sticker, one could stick it on something removable and use it later in the year to ride a non trials bike, no? Does law enforcement ever ask for proof of ownership if they stop you? Do they have a way to tie a sticker or paper to a particular bike?

Yeah most of you guys will want out of state and the stickers have a number so they can look it up. Ive never been asked for the paperwork but they do know the removable trick and dont have a very good sense of humor

Bought my permit online a couple days ago! Super easy. Just had to enter model "Sherco" and no VIN or anything.

Well I got our Kawasaki green stickers today. I almost threw them away as junk mail from New York. Our credit cards were billed to Texas. Strange world we live in.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON COLORADO OHV TAGS:

Hello, I heard back from Colorado State Parks and they will NOT have out of state OHV tags in time for me to bring them to the national.

Riders will need to stop by a WalMart (sporting goods dept), Colorado Parks and Wildlife office, or a sporting goods store to get an out of state OHV tag. They are available anywhere you can get a fishing license. The OHV tags cost $25.25.

Here are several locations in the town of Salida to get an OHV tag...

    ARK ANGLERS
    7500 W HWY 50, SALIDA, 81201
    (719) 395-1796

    ARKANSAS RIVER FLY SHOP
    7500 W HWY 50, SALIDA, 81201
    (719) 539-3474

    CPW ARKANSAS WATER (PARK)
    307 W Sackett Ave, Salida, 81201-1654
    (719) 539-7289

    CPW SALIDA OFFICE (WILDLIFE)
    7405 HWY 50, SALIDA, 81201
    (719) 530-5520

    MURDOCH'S RANCH & HOME SUPPLY
    201 E RAINBOW BLVD, SALIDA, 81201
    (719) 539-2767

    SALIDA TRUE VALUE
    502 E. RAINBOW, SALIDA, 81201
    (719) 539-7601

    WAL-MART #921
    7865 W US Highway 50, Salida, 81201-9345
    (719) 539-3566

Again, we will NOT have OHV tags available onsite so I'm hoping there is a way to get the word out to riders through email and NATC channels.

    -- Regards,
    Chris Hertrich

    See you in the sections

Crap. I made it to Westcliffe tonight and just read this! Brought my $25.25 with me. It's still very much the boonies from I-25 to Westcliffe!

Hope I can find something here, as I had not planned to go anywhere else after getting there.

Maybe someone can pick one up for me?

I hope you don't beat up the old guys on the white line, Chris! I'm having trouble walking more than shuffle speed from crashing out on Rob's gift of gap, Section 1 last Sunday.
