Yup, it's been down for few days. Shouldn't be long though.

Well I survived my trip to St George. I hiked with the wife a couple of days and got an afternoon free to ride on the first. I ended up following box tracks I got found here:

The Dino Loop was lots of fun and the views were great.

It's a solid intermediate trial with rocks, sand, loose climbs, and some small ledges.

I also tried to ride the western part of the Warner loop backwards. I ran out skill trying to climb steep rock ledges here:

Ended up with two broken levers and a sore back but I made it up!

We had the same idea! Clear skys and 60 degree weather in St George couldn't have been better. My son Matthew bumped up to a kx100 and this was the maiden voyage. He did pretty well keeping on the pipe down the washes. Only minor complaint was how dusty it was. Here's our video. Enjoy!

Looks like you guys had fun! It's a lot less dusty riding when your friends bail and you ride by yourself ;)

Random question, at about 6 minutes in there's a guy wearing the coolest riding pants I've ever seen (sharks mouths on the legs). Any idea what they are? My wife tells me I need a pair.

The shark pants were a rockymountainatv special. My boys gave them to me last year at Christmas. Cant remember the brand but can take a look tonight.

Just throwing this out there since it is Rally season with Dakar and Africa Eco Race going; Is there any interest from locals on here about learning a bit about how to ride a Rally Stage? About how to build a roadbook for a stage?

I have been thinking for a while about offering a little one day clinic on the riding/navigation portion out at Delle or 5 Mile depending on weather for some of the locals if there is interest. I have no dates or anything specific picked yet but just wanted to throw this out there and see what interest there really is from the SLC area crowd. You would need to have some sort of roadbook holder (home brew tupperware would work in a pinch), and a smartphone with either F2R Rally Tripmeter (android) or Rally Blitz nav app (prefered because it does waypoint navigation like the big boys). If you look HERE you can see a cost effective digital solution that works really well to get your feet wet in Rally locally.

Let me know. If this gets traction I will start another thread but this seemed like the most logical place to ask first.

Pretty sure I know of at least one person who'd be interested in this. Also, I'm happy to help with this event, should it get enough interest.

I would do this even with only 3-4 people. Small group isn't bad.

Well I'm in for sure. I mentioned it to my friend who isn't active on ADV and he's in plus carlos6's friend. I'm sure word will spread.

I've been wanting to learn more about rally and road book navigation. I'm very interested and hope the dates work into my schedule.

    Thanks Phil,

If it gets bigger I might as for some assistance. Right now it appears there is 3-4 people. I will look at my calendar and see what we can come up with for a date and will PM those that have shown some interest. I probably won't get a chance to get to this until Sunday or Monday. Stay tuned. Keep in mind that it is near impossible to accommodate everyone's schedules. I would be willing to do another one if this goes well. Stay tuned.
