Did you notice all the activities they will arrange for you? Sheri does whale watching tours, plus sport fishing, snorkeling, scuba, and a bunch of other stuff. Tell her we sent you.

I will be in Cabo from late Jan. to middle of April. If in the area send me a pm and stop in for a cold Cerveza. I know Cabo is not for everybody but the wifey likes the beaches and I can base my rides out of there. :evil

I think we are planning on 2 or 3 nights at the BNB. A whale tour for sure, and we may do some fishing. We've been looking forward to staying there for a while.

Had a couple of emails and pm's inquiring about having bikes hauled out. We just sold off our school bus conversion project and acquired an enclosed trailer, which gives us more room for transporting bikes.

My dad and I are heading to Baja early December. Our plan is to leave around the 10th and hopefully be at the border around the 12th. We are planning to ride south to Cabo in about 5 days and meet up with some family there for a few resort days. On the way back my mom and wife will be riding with us. We are planning to do mostly dirt on the way down but easier riding on the way back. We don't really have a route set out yet but we have a few highlights that we need to see again (Alfonsinas, San Francisquito, Scorpion Bay, etc). We've only been there one time and can't wait to get back. Really looking forward to this trip.

I'm going from New Mexico - planning crossing at Tecate around 1st week December, could be a little sooner - first destination Mulege for a couple of weeks, then on down slowly to Chiapas.

The other day we were going over our route planning options, and we realized with our schedule for departure and the first day of riding that the night we will be spending at Coco's will be Valentines Day.

I take her to all the nicest places. :rofl

Just got off the phone with an ADV Inmate from the St. Louis area who is confirmed for having us pick him up on the way through. That leaves room for 4 more bikes and 1 more passenger. 79 days and counting!

Hi, I am wanting to do a Baja ride around Late August or Sept 2012. I have no idea how to plan such a trip. I also would like to see if anyone would be interested in going with me. My plan would be if possible to ride down to Cabo and leave my bike for a few weeks and then come back and ride back to the US. Does anyone know of any good books or websites to help me with this adventure? I am real new to this adventure riding but am excited to get out there!
    Thanks Dave :clap

Skip the books, read ride reports on ADV. Specificaly read Bigdog's reports. Jet go to ride reports and search for Baja reports and read them all.

    Or, go this February.

Hey MuddyRabbit, I’m sure glad I found this thread.
    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    Count me IN, well sorta.
    <o:p></o:p>
I will be bringing my off road Ural rig and it would prolly take too much space on your trailer, plus I may not stay as long so I would like to tag along bringing my own truck and trailer.
    <o:p></o:p>
My plans were to also cross at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Mexicali</st1:City>, travel to San Felipe and then head to San Ignacio by way of <st1:place w:st="on">Coco</st1:place>’s. I was originally planning to stay the night at San Felipe but to camp at <st1:place w:st="on">Coco</st1:place>’s would be even cooler. I didn’t know one could do that. That would be a unique experience.
    <o:p></o:p>
One in San Ignacio, my plans was to just hang around a few days and then head back.
    <o:p></o:p>
I’m comfortable with hanging around San Ignacio but I did not want to cross the border areas or ride the dirt roads towards <st1:place w:st="on">Coco</st1:place>’s alone and would just like to accompany you guys as far as San Ignacio. I’m not going to stay as long as you so I will search for another group coming thru San Ignacio on their way to the border.
    <o:p></o:p>
I’m in Central Texas, so if you take your proposed southern route I’ll meet up with you guys somewhere west of <st1:City w:st="on">Dallas</st1:City>, else I’ll meet with you somewhere in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Yuma</st1:place></st1:City>.
    <o:p></o:p>
Is this acceptable with you guys?
    <o:p></o:p>
If any others from the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Texas</st1:State></st1:place> area are interested, let me know. I will only have room for one more bike on my trailer (A rig takes a lot of space), and perhaps one in the bed of the pickup (short bed), but I will have room for three passengers.
    <o:p></o:p>
MuddyRabbit, I’ll send you a PM shortly with my contact info, etc.

It's December 1st and Meredith and I decided this is the day we start taking deposits for transport, first come first served. Right now we have one spot reserved, leaving room for 4 bikes and 1 passenger.

I'm thinking about a ride FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND down to BAJA on my Vstrom 1000, or maybe throw the bike on a bus and hitch a ride down.

    Possibly 10 days to a month, leaving Dec 26th - Jan 01.

ANY BODY ELSE GOING TO BAJA AROUND THEN??

PS: I've done this ride before and it was a blast!!!

Working on a rough route. Not set in stone, but a rough guide of what we want to ride. Google Maps also didn't recognize the dirt routes going southwest out of Mulege to San Juanico/Scorpion Bay.

After Guerrero Negro (H) we still have several day to get back to San Felipe. Thinking about finding a remote beach to spend a couple of nights at.

We leave from Ohio and trailer to San Felipe in north Baja. A pick up in Kentucky would be no problem. $500 gets you and your bike to San Felipe and back home, 50% deposit reserves your spot.

I'll be leaving Seattle around the same time. Two bikes in a trailer so I'm already full. What are your plans?
