I got to play with a friends Wr250 (2007 or 2006 I think) and now am looking for a used 250 or 450. But I do like the idea of a electric starter.

Does anyone know what year Yamaha started fitting both the 250 and the 450 with a starter?

    Thanks
    Bill

PS The nice part is I'm in Colorado now, so the Wr will end up sprouting a tag.

2004 for the 450, 426 before that, 400 before that, pretty sure, I had an '05, great bike, wish I could've plated it, but I live in CA. Anyway, this is the closest I came to an evolutionary chart. There are some specs in there too, but nothing about starters that I found. I believe the guy above is correct.

I have a 2003 WR250F and it's a lot of fun. 2003 is the first year for the happy button, and the reason I got a 2003. What do you plan on doing with your 250 or 450? It could sway your vote .......

I'll be mostly looking at day trips - wife, kid, dog the whole disaster (naw I love em and I've got the kid interested she's just a year or two away).

I live in Denver so there is plenty of just about everything for trails.

Right now I have a old Honda Reflex trials bike for the slow and tight, a 650 Vstrom for the Street (which I'm not riding at all and am figuring on selling in the Spring - for something alot more street oriented) and want to add something dirty that I will get tagged just to be able to access more trails.

I've ridden XR400, KLR recently and I just want something light and with a nasty streek. KTM would be fun but out of the budget. Round here there are some killer deals on WR and CRF Xs - both 250 and 450. So red or Blue it is..

I've got an 04 WR250F, its a great bike for the tight trails. And I got it because it was electric start. I will never go back to kick only!! Paid $2400 for it....
