Indian Motorcycle continues to offer its remixed version of the Americana V-twin formula, with the opening of a new boutique hangout in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Called the Lynchburg Garage, the new location is close to Lynchburg’s Jack Daniel’s Distillery, and Indian says the Garage is “Inspired by the storied history of Indian Motorcycle and Jack Daniel’s.” As such, one of the features is a retail store with plenty of branded merchandise for sale, including gear that has both Indian and Jack Daniel’s branding.
This is all part of a growing collaboration between Indian and Jack Daniel’s, including custom bikes built with Indian donor machines bearing Jack Daniel’s logos. It seems to be a growing interest for Indian, although the company’s official line is that “Bottles and Throttles Don’t Mix.”
Along with the swag, visitors can also check out historical artifacts from the area, and relax in a hospitality lounge. The Lynchburg Garage will also feature maps showing the best motorcycle roads in the area, allowing visitors to plan rides while they’re stopped at the facility.
By September, the Lynchburg Garage will also feature motorcycle rentals, with current-model Indians available. Again, this is part of a push by Indian to move into the rental market, a business that Harley-Davidson has dominated in the US for many years now.
“Jack Daniel’s has been an incredible partner over the past several years, and we’re extremely excited to bring a taste of Indian Motorcycle to Lynchburg,” said Indian bigwig Reid Wilson. “Although a small town, Lynchburg is a critical piece of American history and a popular destination for tourists traveling to Nashville, and now with Lynchburg Garage, visitors will also have an opportunity to engage with the Indian Motorcycle brand and its history.”
