Finnish adventure gear manufacturer Rukka showed off its new Rukka Protector Shirt (RPS) at INTERMOT.  The RPS utilizes a stretch Cordura shell and temperature regulating Outlast.

A new D3O CP1 chest protector is mounted to the front of the shirt, while a Rukka D3O Air All Back protector, protects your back.  Also new, the RPS now uses new D3O LP1 protectors on the elbows and shoulders.  All protectors are CE certified according to EN 1621-2 2014, level 2.

The Rukka Protector Shirt uses 3DO armor which is certified to CE Standards.

Rukka’s commitment to safety is demonstrated by the fact that its protectors are made with a “smart” polymer.  It has a flexible molecular network structure which is specially made only for Rukka by D3O. Once subjected to an impact force, its structure reinforces itself in proportion to the impact’s intensity.  Within milliseconds, the force of the impact is thus spread across the whole area of the protectors, multiplying impact protection.  After an impact event, the molecular network releases immediately, resulting in the material becoming completely flexible again.

To ensure the RPS can be worn comfortably with a jacket or other motorcycle apparel, the RPS has a body hugging fit.  The RPS’s centerline front zipper ensures that it is as easy to put on as a regular jacket.   It also has a zipper that runs around the shirt so it can be connected it to any Rukka pants.

The long sleeved RPS is available in the sizes S through 3XL. There is also short-sleeved vest version called the Kastor 3.0.  It comes with just the chest and back protector without the armor on the elbows and shoulders.  The RPS comes in the sizes S through 3XL.
