Third V-Strom teaser video
At various times during the video, you can clearly see the word V-Strom. It’s on the side of the bike’s beak and underneath the revised instrument panel display.
Similar to the DR Big
So now that we know it’s a V-Strom, what kind of changes can we see? The bike appears to be narrower with a redesigned fuel tank. Its overall look resembles the iconic Dakar bike lovingly called the DR Big.
The instrumentation display is now all digital. Gone are any signs of analog instrumentation. The video doesn’t show any data on the display, so it’s difficult to be certain whether it is an LCD or TFT. If it were TFT, you would think that Suzuki would be eager to show off its capabilities.
The windscreen has been redesigned, is larger and potentially adjustable for height. The old halogen headlight appears to be replaced with a new large LED unit.
For comfort, the old single piece saddle is replaced with a two-piece unit.
Unfortunately, we can’t tell much about any engine changes, although we can see a new, larger exhaust.
Suzuki will unveil the new V-Strom at EICMA on November 5th, 2019. If you want to see the unveiling live, Suzuki is making the unveiling from EICMA available by live stream. We’ll have to wait and see if this newest V-Strom is what Suzuki lovers have been waiting for.
