I think i'm running the original Zuber map, I pulled the baffle out of the 2-1 Remus and the pops/bangs are bloody loud now. I still have the SAS turned on though which could explain it?

I'm contemplating turning the o2 sensors back on for a time to see how it responds, I'm sure it'll surge a bit more but I'm trying to get the fuel economy up a bit, I get around 30 US MPG.

When I've time I'll compare the Zuber3 to what I'm running and maybe tweak some of the fuelling around the cruising areas of the map.

    Hello Zuber,
you can use your map in KTM 990 ADV 2006 EU?
    My configuration:
    -2-1+Akrap exhaust
-original airbox with original air filter
    -no secondary butterflies

    Thanks

I believe turning off the SAS worsens it. Don't understand why, might not be fully closed that way? At least that's what happens on my bike. I have to keep the SAS enabled in order to eliminate the pops (with the akra map, the zuber map pops eitherway. But my 950 was spot on fueling wise and that also popped, so I think when these bikes are tuned perfectly then they tend to pop on closed throttle)
Turning the O2 sensors IMO is not a good idea, as it won't make the bike run better, but try and achieve better emissions. It also adds a lot to the jerkiness (I think the CPU is just too slow to account for the data from the sensors real time, especially when you alter the throttle position fast and it over or underfuels for half a second or so - it might be okay for a steady cruise)

Hmm, interesting, thanks for the feedback. I'm happy with the map and tend to do a urban commute but filtering/lane splitting a lot, I'm a bit heavy on the throttle in the mid range so maybe 30 USMPG isn't too bad.

I need to take the bike for a long motorway/highway ride and see what MPG it gives, if I'm on a long tour I don't want to be filling up all the time when everyone else gets 60miles or more than me on a tank... I swear my fathers 1050 Adv gets 60+ UK mpg on a steady ride after riding it over the weekend.

I think around 45-50 UK mpg is the best you could pull from a 9x0 if you really feather the throttle especially when taking off.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been on a similar journey with my ‘09. Removed the POwer commander it came with from PO, have 2-into-1 yoshi, rott intake, and maybe some other surprises in there somewhere from PO. Started on day 1 with 25 mpg, and after removing the PC, using zubers later tune, and I don’t think much else, I’m at about 34mpg with moderate throttle use.

Hmm true, best I had was when I first bought it (std map, 2-1 and std gearing), I managed 53mpg on the ride back along the motorway.

Need to give the Zuber3 map a go if it's a bit leaner.

The 08 990 Adv that I originally developed these maps for is finally working. Early in its life, it sat a lot, maybe only getting 3000 miles in 5 years. It took pulling the injectors and cleaning them to finally get it to run right. With the zuber3 map loaded and the O2 sensors turned back on, this bike runs very smooth and has gotten 45 mpg on the highway.

Good news, glad your bikes up and running. Interesting about the O2's...I'll give it a go this weekend and report back! Excellent MPG, I hope mine is as smooth.

That is awesome! How is your bike setup? I'm new here and asked about my 07 a couple of days ago and the thought was to remove the Akro map -super rich, poor mileage and jerky and install a stock map. I'm going to try and load the Tune ecu software on my laptop tonight. Where can I get a stoick map? It is a 2007 with KTM branded FMF pipes. All then other goodies are in place.

Zuber, I just loaded your Zuber 3 map on my 2007 with FMF branded pipes. Everything else is stock. I rode it for about a mile so far and it is sooooo much smoother! The herky jerky appears to be gone! I'm going to take it for a real ride now and start to monitor the mileage. Thank you for all your hard work!!

Loaded the Zuber3 with O2’s on. There’s noticeably less popping and banging, just some SAS type burbles, engine braking is reduced too. I feel that it’s quite smooth, when it does the closed loop on/off gudder at certain throttle positions and loads it is a hell of a lot smoother than stock, I can feel it but it’s hardly noticeable. Quite impressed, I’ll refuel and then run a tank through to find the MPG.

    Cheers for sharing, Zuber.

PS if anyone needs a EU map with the Zuber3 get it here

I'll have to look in the notes on these maps, but I think that I started with an EU map?
Only diff with the EU map is that the gas tank vent valve is turned off? You can't do that with TuneECU?

    Don't remember the details.

Ahh it may well be an EU map, I always imported the cells in to a copy of my original one after having the gas tank vent error in the past using other peoples ones :)

I don't think you can turn off the gas tank valve in TuneECU, from what I can see anyway.

    Cheers

Zubber, you have said that the stock KTM maps are rich, and the Apro maps is very rich across the board. Do you think there is a real risk of running lean, with the open intake and 2-2 exhaust with or without inserts? Or would it be "safer" to blend the two ktm maps from a fueling perspective? which is what I think you where talking about back around post 54.
thanks for all your input in this thread.

Would you recommend this map for a stock, early 2007 EU Adventure?

Are any other mods such as disabling O2 sensor necessary?

Yeah, the #3 map would work good on a stock bike. The O2 sensors are turned off, but you could turn them on for better mileage.
