Looking at the steel frame on my 21’ Husky, just a few areas, like that around the swingarm pivot/foot pegs are chunky forged/cast parts mated to the tubing. It *appears* way less substantial on the Kove.

So, you are familiar. Not the usual class of n00b that Chinese bike threads attract. :lol3

I do really want to love this bike trust me!
I guess the construction does resemble crf250l, klx300 etc. frames which are probably a more fair comparison.

For anybody that may be interested, Robbo Robinson is doing a Hard Enduro build with a GPX TSE 300R on youtube.

Good videos to see how the bikes are put together and designed.

Yes all 3 Kove 450 Rallys that started the Dakar, finished the Dakar. Only problems were a broken wheel and cracked navigation tower.

Ahh - hard to judge sarcasm in forum posts!

Even so, I do think it was an achievement.

Not since last fall, thank god! You’re right, it’s maybe the worst job to do on any motorcycle ever. :lol3 …Except for removing the engine from the CRF450X frame. That job is truly next level diabolical.

Is the "R" PDS or linkage? Megan Griffiths has the "L" IIRC

Ah, erm, he does mention it in the first video regarding the bash plate fitment but I can't remember for certain. I will take a punt and say PDS.

I cleaned a carb on a stihl chain saw a year or so ago, other then that I've not messed with carbs for years and I don't miss it.

Speaking of carbs, in the TSE 300 video he mentions that the standard carb is a pain to set up so the UK supplier is fitting a Kiehin replica which apparently works well straight out the box. As it should.

So, I wonder what's the best type of oil to use in these? What did they use in the Dakar bikes?
