Trust me dude, this is a full blown Dakar capable rally bike with a very strong and lightweight frame, I guarantee it is not a klx 300 or crf 250l. It’s not a crf 450 frame, it’s a Dakar syle frame with weight and geometry in the correct places with suspension that flat out works and a motor that is smooth and has what it takes. It’s not lacking, just fine to it to your details and rip it!! It’s not a clunky Chinese (Japanese) bike with crappy suspension! It will be fun to get more guys on them, I think you’ll be pretty amazing!
The first production bikes of 54 has a nibbi carb and not the best to tune. All new bikes going forward will have a keihin -ish type. They’ve been working great!
Off the Kove N/A fb group which is now +2200 members. Gary Goodwin Admin That’s a very cool idea for sure. I’m limited on how much we can participate on things right now just because we only have 2 in the states. But things like this are 100% what I want to do!! My brain has been going a 100mph about a program we want to put in place for a demo program, Kove bucks, events, rallys, sponsoring fellow Adv riders, racers etc.. We just need more bikes, we I’ll have demos etc later this summer as they arrive. It’s definitely a step by step process but I’d love to put together a “Chain” marathon of riders who would like to ride from point to point across the usa and document the location and movement of the bike. Basically I am open to the idea of organizing a bike to be available for such an event! I am open to taking applicants. I’ll see if I can put together a way to organize such a event. The Kove Transamerica experience. Sounds fun, let’s do it!
Question on fb... looking ahead to picking up my Kove 450 Rally from you, hopefully some time next month and planning. Is the battery lithium or standard flooded cell lead or AGM? Thanks in advance. G.G. "Lithium"
I got my deposit back because i was hoping to be put on a list for first street legal shipment. As for delivery idk yet but ive been in contact with GPX about all that stuff. Gives me more time to noodle on what aftermarket stuff i should make for it first.
Are the deposits with GPX refundable for the Kove 450 Rally should they not be delivered to a reasonable timescale, or the spec changes? MitchMan
Non refundable as far as im aware. i got mine returned because i didnt complete the transaction by signing a competition only agreement for the offroad only version.
Something to think about, calling the bikes "Competition Motorcycles" is a effort to try and skate around the EPA requirements. From the epa website: Can I legally import an uncertified motorcycle as long as I claim it is not for road use? A. Motorcycles are classified as On-road motorcycles based on whether they are, or can readily be, equipped with brake lights, tail lights and headlights, and are capable of speeds greater than 25 mph. A motorcycle with these attributes is an On-road motorcycle even if the manufacturer calls it an Offroad motorcycle and must meet all EPA requirements for On-road motorcycles. Off-road motorcycles currently are not required to be EPA-certified, but new certification requirements apply to Off-road motorcycles starting on January 1, 2006. For more information on Off-road motorcycle certification requirements, see http://www.epa.gov/otaq/recveh.htm
For racing Dakar? That would probably be Motul 300V For the home user? Motul 7100...but that's how I roll.
That's going to help those in easy to marginally easy tagging states. Didn't KTM have wording years ago that helped those the same? In easier states it's not a big deal: https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/plating-a-dirt-bike-in-the-usa.1273341/ For example Colorado has a simple checklist of required equipment and a straight forward process. I've tagged 4 bikes over the years and I'm currently riding a tagged WR450F. For those that live in hard to impossible to tag a bike states, they will need to wait on the EPA legal version...and then of course mod it right back to performance.
Are there going to be any Western events/rallies/races etc where you will be displaying the new bikes??? I know you went to AimExpo with them but that is for vendors only (you want more dealers obviously) and thus no end users really can attend AimExpo...which I think is a HUGE mistake on their part. I'm sure the Sonora Rally / Baja racers are going to be watching closely...
That's only good for diesel KLRs dont cha know? ...so what you're sayin Navin is...you're just a cheap cunt?
