I agree, chuck 10 litres in your backpack and you’re crossing the Simpson on that., Husqvarna obviously had a good look at Radegarage innovations of fitting an auxiliary tank up front, thanks Rade But really this configuration is quite a good starting point to put together a nice capable adventure bike without the weigh and complexity of the big fat twins , ? No?.( think of it as an Austrian DR)
I just penned it as an “Austrian DR”, that’s gonna sting some folks. But Darren imagine if we got hold of one and upgraded the headlights, wheel rims, muffler, ECU, footpegs, steering damper, seat, suspension, total cost say around $6000 or around 30% of the purchase price, we would have quite a nice bike. Are we crazy or what.
Been fiddling around with these bags from Torpedo 7... they've been living on top of my Andyz bags for a good while, but they also fit nicely here...they dont interfere with anything...independant of the tank bag and removing the seat. Ballards MXstore has them now.. https://www.mxstore.com.au/p/Ballards-Black-Rally-Fenderbag/29-RAL Got front and rear spare tubes in there and a Michelin pump.
Now this looks good. Something worthy of filling the shoes of my 2003 640ADV She has over 105000 ks on the clock and I think is due for a rest. This I like.
Check out my supertanker, I use mine as an adventure bike. I’m not skilled enough to take it into the rough and when it lays down I can pick it up even fully loaded, last time was with a broken foot.
That looks like a Kato 690, what year and how does it handle the Safari tanks? Some more pickies would be nice. Are you happy with the bike?
What confusses me is KTM/HQV already have the tried and tested fuel tanks, light fittings, screens for their rally bikes, i.e. 90% of the components, why not just make a few brackets and side shrouds, slap them on and call it a day?
I knew I’d recognised the modern styling cues But it wasn’t until I ducked down the shop the sarvy it came to me where from
Surprising development from Husky, who have otherwise been aggressively forward thinking in design terms (vitpilen and the likes) And with fuel, pannier racks and protection, this thing will be nudging close to 200kg
the thing is so wide in reality it's not even funny... Wider than the rally kit and the fuel sits really high. Dunno if6its true but it may not have the evap canister, so they said it may not reach USA. in my opinion it looks retro and outdated Happy for the aftermarket kits though. A lot of people were asking about Aurora developing a kit for that. HQV said the bike will cost 1000 Euros on top of the standard, not bad for the accessories present (new seat, fuel pump, tank, electric harness etc). With the same suspension and lowered by 25 mm, things may be challenging, but still...
I took the Supermoto out through the forrests and twisties today. Dandenong Ranges - Yarra Ranges etc. I'm gearing it up for a trip to Sydney in January via the Barry Way. Desert fox fuel container will take the stress off the 13L tank. I cant justify the Safari and 600Km range it'll give me.
