Well, this one is getting my vote for "Dumbass of the Year" award. It's a runaway so far...lot's of stupid shit hits these pages but this one is pretty far and away bad. I really don't even want to get into specifics but I think a 3-yr olds trike has more legroom and at least that trike didn't have all the exhaust blowing on my toes. No thank you, please!

Or maybe those who are writing code and influencing AI searches are hipsters who don't want to be blamed for that cafe/scrambler crap.
We only see what they want us to see..........

OK - I'm putting this here...not because this guy is a "dumbass" but more because he's kinda sticking his tongue out at the dumbasses and I liked his ad. He may be on the "dumb" side due to price but he's probably more realistic than any of us want to admit. maybe the best line I've read in any ad "It all goes cause my wife said so. Or $50 extra for my dump fee." Love it.

I did the Olympic Peninsula roundtrip, Hwy 101 to Port Angeles, back thru the twisties, from Gig Harbor last weekend. What did you do?!

IF you enjoy chains, cleaning and lubing, do not buy this bike. Because...you don't do that shit!

IF you know your bikes, you know this model is world class for SMOOTHNESS, shaft drive, a lack of vibration, and the ability to cruise all day. SPORT TOURING, the “Flying Brick”. These engines are legendary, 150,000mi+ MINIMUM, easy.

I’m Looking for a GOOD home, someone to respect the original vintage, and not a cafe racer conversion. IF you can find a cheaper K75C with less mileage and required maintenance, buy the bitch! ps: You CANT. I am NOT accepting offers.

History: Owned since 2018; Ridden year round/weekly. Always garaged, NEW tabs/MAY 2025+; Always on center stand; New HEAVY duty battery. Comes complete with OEM panniers and additional soft OXFORD panniers. Nelson-Rigg Tank bag. (2) NEW front tires; 70%+ remaining rear tire. HEATED GRIPS! “C” fairing + windscreen extension. Corbin Dual Canyon seat with removable backrest. ONLY 77,000mi. And electronic fuel injection; NO CARBS! No chain maintenance!; Serviced summer/June 2024: ALL fluids/lubes, forks, splines.

Needs: Left battery cover primed only. Gear indicator/dash doesn’t always indicate. (But that’s what a Tach is for).

It’s performed flawlessly during my ownership. All work performed by mechanics; I’m just a lifelong rider, not a wrencher. (As such, I’ve learned about the model and brand via Tremendous online info sources/forums available, including K-bikes.com, Motobrick.com, IBMWR.org).

It does come with a bin of other stuff that I inherited when I bought the bike…another full plex windscreen, brackets, handlebar, etc. and the Bikini fairing headlight mount also! It all goes. Because my wife said so. Or $50 more…for my dump fee.

Terms: CASH ONLY. No Trades. Garage Viewings with appointments.

CASH in hand= garage pull/cold start. CASH +endorsement= test ride. NO DELIVERY.

Bike is located/garaged in Gig Harbor, within one mile of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It’s READY to ride; this isn't a project bike. (No trailer is needed.) INCLUDES: bike cover, Tank Bag, bars, windscreen, mini fairing.

ps: Lastly, asking "is it still available?" gets you shit canned. IF the ad is running, guess what Skippy?

Zis specimen may be the one w gnarliestest and knobbliestest tires we've seen on these pages for a while, looooong while... Enter '88 R100RT coffee-black-on-black-w-black-'n-black darth-vader-racer abomination...

Cannot even begin to imagine what riding this bike would be w all of the knobbies going thump-thump-thump although that may be overpowered by trumpet straight pipes exhaust noiz... :bluduh

"...This 1988 BMW R100RT has been modified in the style of a café racer, with work that included removing the faired bodywork and refinishing the chassis, the 980cc opposed-twin, and many of the components in black.

A custom solo seat, a digital speedometer, and LED lighting were installed, as were stubby fenders, rear-set foot controls, and a remote-ignition system. The bike also has a five-speed transmission, an enclosed driveshaft, gray-finished 18″ cast wheels, a single-sided swingarm, Brembo front disc brakes, Bing carburetors, black aftermarket mufflers, and a side stand.

The seller purchased the bike in 2024 and reports work in preparation for the sale that included changing the fluids, re-sealing the engine, and overhauling the fork in addition to replacing the battery, pushrod seals, and tires.

This modified R100RT is offered with two keys and remotes along with a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name..."

At least sailer is generous and offers not 1 but 2 keys, remotes and to top all that off, clean Ill-annoy title for it - it's got a reserve set so remains how it'll do: Modified 1988 BMW R100RT for sale on BaT Auctions - ending August 16 (Lot #205,466) | Bring a Trailer

Why is it only in ads such as this one where a claim is made that “the engine has been resealed”? And what does resealing mean?

We discussed that "topic" few days ago and one of the cleverer comments was that resealing likely referred to removing cyl head cover original gaskets which were leaking, then taking one tube of RTV per each head and obliterating the contact surface w said RTV to hide the leaks... :D

RTV? That requires taking the cover off. Here's how they do it now on Tik-Tok.

Unquestionably a motorcycle for sale. $3k

Gotta love a "selling for a friend" with a CL ad on a FB ad. Won't start, but "probably just needs a battery"

You'd pay for that pos $300 although it doesn't start and needs new battery and doesn't have the title?

Dat's too generous for what you'd get in the return, me thinks... :D
