My bike now has a new set of Tourance tires and a Centech AP-2. My old OEM Tourance EXPs lasted 10,009 miles, which is pretty doggone good.
Took part in a charity ride today with about 30 other bikes, round trip of 465 km Wife and I both suffered a bit from numb bum syndrome but bike was faultlless :)
Looks a lot more than 46L! Looks great tho. Trying now to decide which topcase for my GSA...the std aluminum case is too small, I think.
Rode to Vicksburg, MS last Thursday and on to the Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, AL on Friday. Toured that wonderful museum on Saturday. Yesterday, rode straight through from Leeds back to my home in Oklahoma City yesterday - 769 miles. Note to self: Investigate new seat alternatives for the GSA. Steve
How do you find stability of the 70's at highway speeds? What mileage did you get? Considering switching from Annakees to Conti Trail Attack 2's or 70's. Thanks!
Got together Saturday to change tires for our Arkansas trip coming up. I need to start charging my friends. At least they bring beer!
Loud exhaust notes next to my window piss me off. But, if you're looking to do it, in the car world we call these 'cutouts'. There are manual (thumbscrew) and automatic ones (flip a switch). Basically it goes on between your muffler and your rear O2 sensor, it's just a Wye which points down. So I'd start with some searches online for motorcycle cutouts.
I've been into the triple digits with no complains but most of my riding is on country 2 lanes. Here in WV it's very common to find dirt & gravel in the road, it doesn't affect the 70's nearly as much as the trail attacks. That alone will keep me on 70's. As far as mileage the rear A3 that came on the bike was done at 4,200 miles. The 1st 70 rear did a little better just over 5,000 miles. The trail attack rear had a little left at 5,200 but a lot of that was in the rain...I don't push in the rain.
Went to the MSF Advanced Course yesterday which is an hour each way and 5 hours of seat time. Instructor was really amazed at my skills. didn't have to put my foot down and aced the U-turn box. Unfortunately, hit a patch of sand on the way home but TCS saved me
Happy to say I finally got to spend some time riding the GS again. It was down for a few weeks while I was working on getting it fixed from my last adventure submersing it in a creek. I got the new HES installed, flushed the fluids, new plugs, new filters, and a new belt. Looking forward to putting a few thousand miles on it before my big trip in July.
Here you go: http://forums.bmwmoa.org/showthread...or-Brake!-(pictorial)&highlight=adjust+clutch Mike
Thank you Mike and Jim! Edit: Well as strange as it sounds, I tried to adjust the clutch lever today and the 2mm allen set screw would not come loose. I used 2 different allen wrenches without any luck! Also tried a 2.5mm allen wrench and (of course) it would not fit. Any suggestions?
I've done my Basic MSF Course and now I've completed 1500 miles on the GSA and taken my advanced MSF course on Sunday. Would an event like this be valuable? http://www.tonystrackdays.com/category/9284/non-and-sportbike-days.htm I'm too late for the one this week but I'm debating signing up for the one in August.
