UK motorcycle icon Triumph is looking out for North American riders by adding two years of roadside assistance to every new bike sold – and even backdating it for riders who already bought model year 2021 bikes this year.
In a press release, Triumph said that “customers who purchased any model year 2021 or newer Triumph motorcycle since January 1st, 2021 in the US or Canada, will automatically receive this benefit until June 30th, 2023. All customers who purchase a model year 2021 or newer motorcycle after July 1st, 2021 will automatically receive the complimentary Triumph Roadside Assistance for two full years from their purchase date.”
Modern motorcycles are more reliable than ever, but also more complex than ever, and things can still go wrong out on the road, including oopsies by riders who, say, try to stretch those last few ounces of fuel – and come up a bit short. So, indeed, fuel delivery is covered, along with oil and water, and the service will also cover common problems like flat tires, dead batteries and ignition keys snapped off in the ignition, which is apparently a thing.
The service is being provided by CornerStone United, who will no doubt be contracting with local road assistance providers in the U.S. and Canada to come rescue you 24/7 for two years from the day you bring your new pride and joy home. Triumph says the roadside help will have a cap of $100 per occurrence, and Triumph riders will have a special number to call day or night to summon help.
The roadside assistance package mirrors Triumphs bike warranties, which are typically also two years in duration as stock. “We are pleased to be able to provide this service to our customer. As motorcycle riders ourselves, we know all about unexpected mishaps on the road. This roadside assistance program will offer our customers peace of mind that when the unexpected happens, they’ll have support to help them get back on the road.” Rod Lopusnak, General Manager Triumph Motorcycles America, said in the press release.
For a quick comparison, roadside assistance icon AAA offers motorcycle and scooter (and bicycle!) coverage as part of their $99 annual package deal, including “extraction” service, something we hope you never, ever need.
