As the latest James Bond flick sits ready to hit theatres next month, Triumph plans to release an accompanying motorcycle: The Tiger 900 Bond Edition.
Sadly, there’s no spy gadgets onboard—Q left this machine alone. No smokescreen generator, no radar, no hidden miniguns. Looks like you’ll have to rely on skill and luck to cut through traffic, as always.
However, the bike does have some mechanical upgrades over the stock machine. Triumph put Michelin’s dirt-friendly Anakee Wild tires on this (and also includes a set of Bridgestone Battlax tires as well). There’s a stainless steel Arrow exhaust, and heated seats.
Those seats come with Bond Edition branding, a theme that Triumph extends to even the TFT screen. Fire up the bike, and you get the famous gun barrel graphic sequence greeting you. Triumph also gave the bike a Matt Sapphire Black paint paint job (again, with more Bond branding), along with specially-painted frame, headlight bracket, side panels, skid plate, engine guards—you get the idea.
Triumph is only building 250 of these bikes; each bike will be individually numbered, with the unique number displayed on the billet handlebar clamp (also a unique touch).
So, you’d think this bike would debut at the same time as the movie, right? Wrong. Triumph says this machine won’t be delivered to US and Canadian dealers until May or June of 2022, with an MSRP of 20,100 USD or $22,800 CAD. Seems like that’s a bit late to the party, but no doubt Triumph will pre-sell all these bikes anyway, long before they hit showrooms.
