That was a setup for a two week trip, camping gear, cooking gear, toolkit, clothing. Total weight of my gear+bags is ~45 lbs. Depends if i'm out in the middle of nowhere and need to bring more water/fuel with me then i'll fill my 4L water bladder and bring a 1.5L fuel bottle as backup. I've got an upgraded 6.2 spring to deal with the extra weight (plus my fat ass)

any one make a lens protector for the stock headlight, I have stiff wire cage over my old XR head light, but its a simple square shape.
Maybe with the 450 I will be throwing roost instead of catching it.

Probably is in AUD not USD. Still not cheap.

I added a layer of LAMIN-X to my headlight lens.

    Part #1-612CL
    Qty (1) 6" x 12" Clear Universal Film Covers

    Cost was $17 delivered.

The piece of 6" x 12" was enough to do (2) CRF450L headlights.

Thanks for the reply, and yeah... that was kind of what I was thinking. But obviously they added it and people are saying it's decent so I was a bit confused.

I'm thinking I'll just leave it off, unless I get caught in the rain on the road or something... but in the dirt, I just can't imagine a scenario where I'd want traction control.

It's not full traction control .If you fool around with it you will see that it allows a good bit of wheelspin then limits the power a bit.Its very smart the way it switch's on off via start button .It would certainly help a new rider from loosing control .

Considering the IMS tank costs us about $645, it’s good value I think, even comes with nice strong radiator guards, so when you add that in there is not a lot of difference. Also without it I can’t do some of the riding I like to do, so hard to put a price on that.

I ended up punching a new hole in the cover strap to secure it lower on the strap in order for the cover to sit flush.

I just tried to like this post--again. Lol

Is that the Rackless 40L? I got the Rackless 10L and feel like I should've just got the 8L roll-top bag for the rear rack for day rides (which I since purchased) and the 40L for more extended rides. But...why buy once when you can buy twice? Seems to be my motto these days.

It's actually the Reckless 80 bags. A friend had the 40 and it's usable but the 80 gives more flexibility. Just need to avoid overpacking since it's tempting.

The 40's are prefect for this size bike for multi-day rides. Unless you're living off of the bike or doing a RTW I think that the 80's are too much for this platform, YMMV.

Make sure you are converting to USD from AUD! $720 AUD= $459.00! ...and that is with all of the extras.

Anyone have a link to a chart listing which brake pads from the various manufacturers fit this bike? Particularly the front pads.

I´m in the process of removing the AIS and leave the thermostat on. Bike is euro doesnt have canister. Do I have to move the fuel tank for that or can I just pull out the tube that goes from the solenoid to the air box?

Is that tube attached to the frame or anywhere else, any other holders or brackets to remove?

Somewhere in this thread some pics were posted of a valve for the oil separator drain. I've searched for them and haven't been able to find them. Anyone have a pic of description of the valve?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure, I left my separator on, its doesnt weigh much and I like having a catch can.
